When laser is a poor fit
Back pain with a new loss of bowel or bladder control, or pain plus a fever, is not a laser visit. Call for urgent medical care. For ordinary mechanical back pain, the exam still comes first. Laser is skipped when the skin cannot tolerate heat or when the findings say the pain is not in the muscle the light would reach.
How it sits next to the rest of the plan
